During the the next few months, Institute Founder and Executive Director Jerr Boschee will be
involved in the following activities:
January 16-18: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (featured
speaker at a luncheon convocation for students at the H. John Heinz III School
of Public Policy & Management, plus three half-day workshops for regional
nonprofit executives and Board members)
January 29: New York (planning session with senior
executives at the National Urban League)
February 5-7: Cincinnati (two-day workshop for
local nonprofits sponsored by The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati)
February 20: Online webinar for members of Young
Inventors International
March 8-13: Washington, D.C. (participating in a
series of meetings hosted by the National Peace Corps Association and chairing a Board of
Directors meeting for Peace Corps Encore!)
March 27-29: Oxford, England (participating in the
4th Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship; conducting a 90-minute
workshop entitled "Stakeholder Engagement Strategies: How to muster support
for your social innovation and deflect your critics"
April 3-6: Cincinnati (two one-day site visits with
local nonprofits sponsored by The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati)
April 17-19: Long Beach, California (participating
in the 8th Gathering of the Social Enterprise Alliance; conducting two 90-minute
workshops -- "Social Enterprise from the Board's Perspective" and
"Positioning and Marketing Strategies for Entrepreneurial Nonprofits"
April 23-24: Canton, Mississippi (conducting a
two-day retreat for the Visionary Leadership Institute)
April 25: Gulfport, Mississippi (conducting a
one-day seminar for the Mississippi Association of Nonprofits)
April 27: Fort Worth, Texas (conducting a 90-minute
workshop for attendees at the national conference of the YWCA)
April 28-May 5: Oxford, England (guest lecturer in
classes at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, a series of seminars
for students and mid-career executives, and mentoring services for students)
May 9: Dallas, Texas (one-day workshop for senior
executives and Board members attending the American Humane Society national
conference)
May 16-17: New Orleans (facilitate a two-evening
retreat for the ARC of Greater New Orleans)
May 20-23: Cincinnati (three one-day site visits
with local nonprofits sponsored by The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati)
June 4-8: Cincinnati (three one-day site
visits with local nonprofits sponsored by The Health Foundation of Greater
Cincinnati, plus a one-day peer group session bringing together representatives
from eight nonprofits)
July 24-27: Carlisle, Pennsylvania (participating in
plenary and small group discussions at the Army War College)
August 1-4: Odessa, Ukraine (participating in the
international competition sponsored by Students for the Advancement of Global
Entrepreneurship; will present the first annual "Arthur Boschee and Evelyn
Ball International Award for Social Enterprise")
Elsewhere
More than 500 people attended The 7th Gathering of the
Social Enterprise Alliance in Atlanta in March 2006. The
8th Gathering
will be in Huntington Beach, California, April 17-19, 2007, and, in addition to the
plenary sessions, will include more than 60 mini-workshops.
The 4th Skoll World
Forum on Social Entrepreneurship will take place March 27-29 in Oxford, England.
